OTAMates Software Development Manager, Carl Whalley, gave the opening keynote presentation to Wireless and Mobile '09 at the London Olympia, 20th May 2009, titled "Google Android: The perfect handset software storm".
This was an insight into Android showing the forces which shaped it to its present form, how it fits into the mobile ecosystem and into Google’s technology roadmap, and why its architecture is designed for the future. An exploration of the perfect storm of software, hardware, marketplace and user expectations which coincided to produce what is a serious candidate for the most disruptive technology the mobile industry has ever seen. The session was well received and judging by the people spilling outside pretty well subscribed!
