Android Developers RegisterAfter the success of the Android Academy (750+ members), combined with the largest Google Android group on LinkedIn (4500+ members), OTAMate Technology Ltd has addressed the growing problem of matching Android developers to Android projects with the launch of the Android Developers Register.

"We have seen a huge increase in demand from both developers and customers following the launch of several new Android handsets recently. This is really only the beginning, as many more are due soon from a wide range of manufacturers", said Carl Whalley, OTAMates Software Development Manager. "Google has provided terrific incentives for developers, such as the two Android Developer Challenges with million dollar prize funds, and the recently overhauled Android Market. The situation now is that the developer community, although well served technically, is a little unfocussed when it comes to matching projects with resources. The Android Developers Register aims to address that by way of a social community in a free, friendly and efficient way."

The Android Developers Register is on the Android Academy site at http://www.androidacademy.com. It is free to use but does require registration. Membership of the Register is optional. Users are perfectly free to create accounts and download the tutorials, use the forums and browse it without having to be listed  - it is an optional checkbox on their profile. Members of the Register can update their profile to detail their Android experience and applications, post screenshots of their apps and post contact details such as their location, email address and even Twitter account.

"There are some very exciting times ahead in the world of Android", Carl added. "You can feel the buzz in the industry. There definitely is a feelgood factor amongst the developers. Hopefully the Android Developers Register will enable them to make the most of their talent by matching them with real development opportunities".
